NASCAR’s Cream of the Crop

After just two races we still don’t know a whole lot about who will dominate the field. However, we do have some surprises in our Top 10 this week. Not necessarily with who is in the rankings but with who isn’t. Popular names like Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn’t make this week’s list because they haven’t earned it yet this season.

This Week’s Top 10

Izzo: Big 10 Network Is a PR Nightmare

There are a lot of sports fans of the Big 10 who are disgruntled with the conference’s television network’s inability to get onto local cable networks. Now you can add a few coaches to that mix, most notably Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo.

"I think it has been a PR nightmare," Izzo told the Associated Press. "And, I think it has hurt all of us. ... We have so many things right now that we're trying to fight — the price of tickets, the economy of our state — and then we throw this at them."

Police Looking For Scott Spiezio

An arrest warrant has been issued for Saint Louis’ Scott Spiezio on six charges stemming from an automobile crash in late December. Irvine police responded to a report of a single-car crash at 12:20 a.m. on Dec. 30 in Orange County. Officers found a 2004 BMW registered to Spiezio had crashed into a curb and fence. The driver was seen running from the crash site, according to Lt. Rick Handfield.

Indiana Doing Their Best to Distance Themselves From Sampson

I guess it would be a major overstatement to say that the Indiana Hoosiers made a mistake in hiring Kelvin Sampson as their men’s basketball coach. Now that Sampson has accepted a $750,000 buy out the Indiana athletic department is working their best at damage control in an effort to cushion the blow that is most likely coming from the NCAA.

Terrelle Pryor Will Be A Buckeye

Regardless of he may say, Terrelle Pryor is enjoying the lime light. As a quarterback out of Jeannette, Pennsylvania Pryor is the nation’s top high school recruit who most believed was heading to Ohio State. However, Pryor decided to extend the recruiting process by not signing on National Signing Day because he hadn’t yet had the opportunity to visit Penn State.

St Louis Cardinals Looking for Another Arm

The Saint Louis Cardinals realize that they are undermanned when it comes to their starting pitching rotation. Last month the Cardinals signed Matt Clement to a one year contract but his ability to start the season is now in doubt. With pitching troubles dooming the season for Saint Louis a watered down rotation to start this season should be worrisome.

The Bad, Not the Good, of College Football

Typically if a story comes out this time of year about a college football player there is a very good chance that it isn’t a good one. Such is the case for Oregon State’s Al Afalava and Alabama’s Jeremy Elder who have got their faced on the news for all the wrong reasons. Instead of getting ready to help prepare their team’s defense to shine during spring practices they are preparing a team of defenders to plead their cases in a court of law.

Be Informed About Credit Cards

Credit cards can be a bad idea if you are looking for a quick fix to a financially difficult situation because they can bring a person into deeper debt. However, a person of responsibility could use a credit card to make purchases, travel or even cover living expenses.

If that describes you then the next thing you need to do is to look into a card that pays you back. There are literally endless opportunities for credit available to people searching for it but they aren’t all advantageous. Cash Back Cards are the way to go because they reward a person for using them.

CreditCardSearchEngine.com gives you the opportunity to compare credit cards to find the absolute best rate and offer for you.

Marion Barber Not on the Trading Block

It had been widely rumored that Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones was willing to deal All-Pro running back Marion Barber to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Miami’s first pick in April’s NFL draft. While it wouldn’t shock anyone for Jones to pull off such a deal to snatch a player like Darren McFadden in order to help fill seats at his new stadium but it appears that at least for now that won’t be an option.

Coco Crisp Wants His Job Back or Wants Out

If Coco Crisp can’t get his job back from Jacob Ellsbury he is most likely to ask to be traded from Boston. Ellsbury replaced Crisp in the playoffs during Boston’s run to the World Championship and is most likely going to retain the team’s center field position.

While manager Terry Francona said that the competition would be fair and balanced Crisp didn’t sound like he was convinced it would be.

Newman’s Win At Daytona Means Nothing

I don’t want to rain on Ryan Newman’s Daytona Parade but he is going to have to step it up if he wants to win the Sprint Cup. Yes, I do realize how crazy that sounds! Imagine walking up to Eli Manning and the New York Giants and telling them, “Hey guys, nice game against the Patriots but if you really want to be the best team in the world you’ll have to step it up a notch.”

Lito Sheppard at Odds With Eagles?

It appears that Lito Sheppard wants to leave Philly but the question is why? He never indicated during last season that he was unhappy with the Eagles or his current contract but false reports were released Monday night that Philadelphia had given him permission to seek a trade.

"Any report suggesting that we've allowed Lito or his agent to seek a trade is absolutely, undeniably false," team spokesman Derek Boyko said.

Sheppard is under contract with the Eagles until 2011 and is scheduled to make $2 million next season.

Fake Trades and Baseball Rumors

Brett Myers is the king of the Philadelphia Phillies clubhouse. If you don’t believe me just ask Kyle Kendrick or better yet checkout the prank he orchestrated on Kendrick.

When you look at the number of people who were involved in this hoax you have to ask the question, did it go too far or is it still under the category of just clean fun. I don’t know, you tell me!

Mark Mulder Throwing Again

As pitchers and catchers are reporting today there is some positive news coming from the St. Louis Cardinals camp concerning Mark Mulder’s road to recovery from a shoulder surgery in September.

Monday Mulder found himself standing on the pitcher’s mound throwing pitches. While he was very limited in count (only 10 pitches thrown)... Continue

Life Insurance Without the Song and Dance

Life insurance is one of life’s necessary evils. You buy it never wanting to use it but are thankful for your family’s sake when it becomes necessary to cash it in. The thing that drives me crazy about life insurance is the advertisements, especially the emails.

Companies flood your inbox hoping that you will trust that they have the best rates. Actually term life insurance quotes are not as difficult to find as you might think they are.

Sites like the one linked above offer great rates and unlike the junk mail you’ll receive this one insures the elderly, smokers or even high risk individuals.

Kelvin Sampson Leads Hoosiers to NCAA Infractions Committee

I think it is safe to say that Kelvin Sampson’s days as the University of Indiana’s basketball coach are numbered. The university received a list of alleged violations yesterday and a hearing is set for June after which a ruling will be made but you can almost count on a ruling to be made on Sampson’s future before then.

Basketball's Top 10

March is just around the corner but we are already experiencing the madness of NCAA basketball. I have to admit that I was wrong when I thought that the Kansas Jayhawks were the best team in the country and that Memphis was a bit overrated. It now appears that those titles should be reversed.

Here’s how I would rank the top 10 this week.

The Best Bet on Vegas

Millions of people travel to Los Vegas every year for the sites, attractions, shopping, shows and yes even the gaming. Your trip to Vegas could be a trip to remember for a lifetime or it could be your worst nightmare if you booked it through the wrong people.

Las Vegas Hotels aren’t hard to come by but really great deals on them are. In fact if you are planning your trip you don’t just want deals on hotels you want them on everything! Visiting the Best of Vegas will give you the deals on shows and entertainment that will make your experience on to remember for years to come.

Miami Dolphins Clean House

Let’s face it. When you have a team that goes 1-15 the problem goes beyond coaching. Sure Miami’s coaching was horrendous but the Dolphins also had their share of player personnel problems. On Monday the Dolphins took a significant step on the road to recovery by cutting loose of some dead weight.

Toyota Set to Make A Run in 2008

Last year Michael Waltrip was caught cheating and he along with manufacturer Toyota struggled to get solid footing during their first NASCAR season. Now they are both looking to not only bounce back but also make some serious noise on the track this year but it remains to be seen how they will be welcomed back.

Capture Light In the Box

Are you trying to make money on the internet through an online store? The key is finding a wholesaler that has great prices and the ability to drop ship. Regardless if you are running an online store or selling items in E-Bay the website Light in the Box is what you are looking for. They offer great prices on thousands of products and best of all they drop ship wholesale.

The key for Light in the Box is China Wholesale. Like hundreds of other wholesale retailers their site is easy to find and navigate but there is no charge for membership. Simply browse products by category or run a key word search. Once you find the product that you are looking for purchase and shipping are just a click away.

Just by taking a glance at their home page you will see dozens of special offers, sales and new products. All of that is before you click on a category or use a key word search leading you to thousands of products. To me one of the best things about Light in the Box is that one of their payment methods is PayPal. That means I don’t have to enter my credit card information. However, if you are a credit card shopper they accept most major brands.

Giants Outclass/Outplay the Patriots

My grandma used to tell me things like, “Cheaters never win!” and “What goes around comes around.” Sunday night in Glendale, Arizona the New York Giants brought the New England Patriots back down to earth and gave Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick the perfect opportunity to show his true colors.
